The UBC Master of Data Science is a professional program developed by the combined expertise of the UBC departments of Computer Science and Statistics to help meet the growing need for data scientists and give students a fast track to a great career.

 The Challenge

Increase Brand Awareness
Drive Program Applications

Driving program applications into this new program was our primary goal. With a long decision making funnel we needed to ensure we used a broad range of ads to increase awareness and drive engagement.

The Solution

To achieve the goals set out by MDS, Snaptech developed a strategy focused on the following areas:

Users with an intent to apply for a data focused masters.

Users who had demonstrated a specific interest in the UBC Master of Data Science.

Users who showed an interest in the sciences and further education.

 The following platforms were used:

Facebook advertising

Facebook retargeting

AdWords search

AdWords display

Message timing was key to the success of the campaign. We implemented new image ads and videos as well as updating messaging to create urgency as application start dates approached to maximize conversion rate.

In total, our campaigns generated 878 clicks into the application process helping UBC MDS far exceed its goal of 500 applications.
